The concept behind co-buying is that you sell a part of your property to another buyer. Essentially your equity within the property will be a percentage, depending on your share of the cost. If you (or you as a couple) sell half the value, your equity, depending on your borrowing, is up to 50%. So what's the advantage? If you are looking to the future and genuinely concerned with your costs then it's better to think of a strategy early whilst you have time to think. You would need to accept either a co-buyer uses part of the property or collects rental on their share. There are other things you can do. Get financial assistance and support.
